Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

CPD is mandatory for all members except those who are fully retired. You must engage in CPD continuously and annually declare compliance to the Institute.

What constitutes CPD?

CPD includes activities that enhance technical, business, digital, people, and leadership skills, or deepen your understanding of ethics, integrity, and professionalism. The following activities qualify as CPD:

How much CPD should I undertake?

Members have the autonomy to determine their CPD requirements. There are no prescribed hours or benchmarks; you should complete CPD as deemed necessary for your professional development.

Maintain a record of your CPD

It is essential to keep a comprehensive record of your CPD activities in case you are asked to provide evidence of compliance.

Exemptions from CPD requirements

Fully retired members, who do not engage in any work, whether paid or unpaid, may annually claim exemption from CPD. This exemption remains valid for the year or until their circumstances change. If a retired member undertakes unpaid work, CPD requirements still apply.
